Downtown Palestine Attractions

Downtown Palestine is home to the historic Texas Theatre. The structure, which opened in 1930, features Spanish Colonial architecture and was originally designed to be an “atmospheric movie house.” The venue now hosts a variety of live theater productions courtesy of the Palestine Community Theatre. The PCT has made ongoing restorations and improvements of the Texas Theatre a continuing mission so that future generations can enjoy the history and majesty of this classic landmark.

You’ll also want to visit the Anderson County Courthouse if you’re in the Main Street District area. The Beaux-Arts style building was constructed in 1913 on top of the highest hill in Palestine.
