Mardi Gras On Main Street

Mardi Gras Celebration

You’ve always wanted to attend Mardi Gras, but New Orleans is a long drive away. What if you could celebrate without leaving Palestine? That would be fun, wouldn’t it? It turns out you can by attending Mardi Gras On Main Street on Feb. 23. The fun starts at 2:00 p.m. Get ready for Cajun food, music, and fun on Historic Main Street.

The Food

New Orleans is a foodie paradise, but so is Palestine. You just don’t realize it yet. The area’s best culinary professionals will descend on Main Street to prepare traditional Cajun dishes, along with some dishes with a twist. They will hold food demonstrations throughout the day, and you can even taste the food when they’re done preparing it. Don’t take out your wallet though. The samples are free of charge.

The Drinks

And get this: You can even enjoy some free wine at the event. Local vendors offer free wine pairings so you can get the most out of the experience. You’d have to pay for your drinks if you took the trip to New Orleans.

The Main Event: The Parade

There’ll be music and dancing at the celebration, but the parade is the real entertainment. Mardi Gras parades can get a little wild in New Orleans, but this one is family-friendly. The Mardi Gras King and Queen will choose the theme of the parade, and everyone involved will keep it a secret until it rolls out. No matter what the theme is, you can expect fun floats and lots of jazz music. Oh, and the participants will throw out items like beads and moon pies. You might even snag a cute trinket while watching the parade.

You might not have to drive all the way to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, but what about when you do need to take a big trip? Can your vehicle handle it? If you’re not sure, it’s time to get a new car, truck, or SUV at Palestine Toyota in Palestine, Texas. Whether you want something new or pre-owned, we have you covered.
