Fire Department Room
The Fire Department Room is a favorite for the museum’s visitors. This exhibit honors the fire departments of the past, and it contains lots of cool items. You can see a hydrant from the 1800s and glass fire grenades. These are just a couple of the relics you will see when you visit this exhibit.
Main Floor Hallway
The Main Floor Hallway exhibit contains tons of historical items. You will learn all about the early days of Palestine and Anderson County when you visit this exhibit. Check out the old crank telephones, cotton bales, and other items that it showcases.
Railroad Room
If you are interested in the railroad, you should check out the Railroad Room. It will take you back in time to the days when the railroad was prominent in Palestine. Check out lanterns, crossing lights, a telegraph, and other items from the Palestine Railroad Depot. You can even listen to recordings of an old steam engine. This is a really neat exhibit.
School Room
Have you ever wondered what schools looked like back in the early 1900s? If so, you can find out at the School Room exhibit. You will see desks from different eras, as well as teaching aids and blackboards. You can even find school yearbooks that date all the way back to 1912.
Black History Room
The Black History Room exhibit will take you through the history of Palestine’s African American community. You will see their contributions in various aspects of the community when you walk through this exhibit.
