What to Expect
Once you embark, you’ll be treated to a wonderfully immersive experience that re-creates the magical tale from Chris Van Allsburg’s beloved children’s book (as well as inspired elements straight from the major motion picture, such as the lovely soundtrack that plays in the background on the train). Chefs will recite the classic children’s book as they serve cookies and the all-important hot chocolate and the train chugs along toward Santa’s hometown.
Once at the North Pole, you’ll be greeted by none other than Saint Nick himself, along with some of his trusty elves. Santa distributes the first gift of Christmas to all passengers – a silver sleigh bell, of course – and then the Polar Express chefs lead everyone in a Christmas carol sing-along on the way back to the depot.

Polar Express trips at the Texas State Railroad run from November 17 through December 27 and can be booked online. You can choose among several train accommodation options with varying ticket prices, from the top-tier Dome Class to the Presidential Class, First Class, Coach Class, and Open-Air Coach.
