Marathon running race

Looking for a fun way to exercise? Then, consider participating in the Pumpkin Fun Run 2021. In addition to being a fun activity, this is a fundraiser.

Where and When

This year, the Pumpkin Fun Run will be on Saturday, Oct. 2. The run will start at 8 a.m. To register, you will have to pay a $35 fee. Then on the day of the event, head to the fun run’s starting line at the Montalba Community Center.

Fundraising

The Pumpkin Fun Run is also a fundraiser. The funds generated by the event will go to the Montalba Community Improvement Association to achieve a few goals. First, a portion of the funds will go to maintaining existing historic sites. Additionally, the funds will help support the scholarship of local students.

Get a T-shirt

Your registration fee also pays for a T-shirt. All participants will receive one. However, there is no guarantee that you will get the size you want after a certain date. You must register by Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m. to guarantee a T-shirt in your size.

How to Register

You have two options to register for the race. First, you can register online and pay the fee using a credit or debit card. If you prefer to pay in cash or with a check, you have to print and accomplish the registration form. Then, you can mail the form or drop it off in person.

Other Community Events

After the fun run, there are plenty of other ways to participate in local community events. For example, the community Fright Night Haunted House will happen towards the end of October. It will be on Friday and Saturday nights, which means Oct. 22, 23, 29, and 30.  The Palestine Firefighters Association and Friends host this event. If you plan to attend, admission is $15. Alternatively, you can bring two canned goods and pay $10.

You can also attend the weekly Farmers Market Days. These are every Saturday morning and will run until Dec. 11. The farmers market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you prefer, you can also spend some time visiting the historic sites that the Montalba County Improvement Association maintains. After all, that is what your registration for the fun run will go to. So, consider exploring the dozens of architectural sites and museums in Palestine.
